University of the Potomac was founded in 1991 and offers Associate, Bachelor and Master’s degree programs. Potomac offers a vibrant, multicultural atmosphere located in the heart of the United States of America’s capital, Washington, D.C.

The main campus of the University of the Potomac is located at 1401 H Street, N.W., Washington, DC 20005 and the Virginia Campus is located at 2070 Chain Bridge Rd, Vienna, VA, 22182. All programs are also available online.

Students can earn their bachelors degree or associates degree.

Potomac has a convenient Virginia college campus located in Vienna, Virginia just 15 minutes away from Arlington, VA and the Maryland border. Students can earn their bachelors degree, associates degree or MBA.  Students can also earn professional certificates in business, health systems, IT, project management and more.

Student Services


University of the Potomac does not provide on-campus housing or student dormitories, however, we do assist with student housing arrangements — either off-campus housing or homestay.

Our student housing partner provides international students with comfortable and high-end-housing options. For convenience, these housing options are always located next to or within commuting distance to university. Accommodation is tailored to custom-fit academic and housing needs of each student.


(OPT) is a period during which undergraduate and graduate students with (F-1) status who have completed or have been pursuing their degrees for more than nine months are permitted by USCIS to work at most one year on a student visa in their field of study.

(CPT) is a type of off-campus work/internship authorization for international (F-1) students. (CPT) must relate to your major and the experience must be part of your program of study. At an undergraduate level, your (DSO) may authorize CPT after you have completed at least two semesters. If at a graduate level, your (DSO) may authorize CPT during your first semester.

*The current average tuition cost for domestic (U.S.) students and online international students to attend University of the Potomac for an academic year (8 months) at full time status is $12,984 (Associate and Bachelor Degree) and $8,652 (Master Degree). The average cost to matriculate for an Associate Degree is $32,460; a Bachelor Degree is $64,920; and a Master Degree is $25,956.

*For on-campus international students, the average tuition cost to attend University of the Potomac  for an academic year (8 months) at full time status is $18,000 (Associate and Bachelor Degree) and $10,800 (Master Degree). The average cost to matriculate for an Associate Degree is $45,000; a Bachelor Degree is $90,000; and a Master Degree is $32,400.
